MICRO CONTROLLER & GSM BASED BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM.

BRIEF IDEA:-
The system we will develop consists of a microcontroller based master card connected to slave cards in every flat.The uC receives the outputs of different slave cards and checks for any security problem such as gas leakage, intruder and fire/smoke.The problem and flat no. Will be displayed on LCD & audio indication will be given using loud speaker & buzzer. Other parameters like parking lights & passage lights will be controlled by master card placed in security guard’s cabin.

In every flat, there will be microcontroller based slave card.This card will get inputs from fire leakage, door, fire & smoke sensors.Slave card will convey this information to master card for further processing.Thus we can monitor security of all flats in an apartment from on central location.Other parameters like parking and passage lights are also controlled which results in efficient use of electricity.


What is mean by building automation?

In any apartment there are different flats. This system consists of slave cards mounted in each flat.These cards are supplied with different sensors such as gas leak sensor, door sensor etc. The master card will be placed at control cabin, which is connected to all the slaves.If any sensor of the slave gets activated due to some problem such as fire etc. the message will be displayed on the LCD placed in control cabin. It displays the flat No. as well as the type of problem occurred in that flat.

Existing Flat Security System

In the presently used system for security of flats there is no arrangement for protection against gas leak,fire,theft etc. of individual flat.There is necessity of one centralized monitoring of all above factors of all flats in an apartment .

Disadvantages of the Existing System

Basically it does not have provision for centralized monitoring of all flats in an apartment. Flat owner is not sure about his flat security all the time. It does not take care of all possible conditions.
